RETURN OF THE ANCIENT MATRIARCH A one-woman, multi-entity show created and performed by Holly Tannen, Mistress of Folklore, and her Entities from the Half-Astral Plane. Holly’s best-loved songs include “Brownies for Breakfast,” “Victim of Them,” and “Anarchist Eyes.” Suburban shamans, langwitches, and bonobo wannabees are all welcome to sing along with proud and satirical Pagan anthems, plus mystical songs from Taoist, Sephardic, and Sufi traditions. “Leave the poet her crazy laughter/Let her run free beneath the sky/ Till her soul overflows with verses/ Songs that make you laugh and cry."


Holly Tannen

Holly Tannen is a Reclaiming tradition priestess of Brighid, and a folklorist specializing in humor, traditional ballads, and European magical ritual. Her recordings include Between the Worlds, Rime of the Ancient Matriarch, and Crazy Laughter.
