Max Dashu presents a visual talk on the Three Sisters, fatas, fées, and their cohort of triune goddesses as conceived in early medieval sources to early modern folk tradition. With excursions into elves and álfar, dísir and helrunas and various ancestral spirits, as well as “the witch Holda,” from her book Witches and Pagans. And what about the Franks who smudged people at old monuments, “that is, sarandas antiquas, which they call the Greater Ones”? Or people who “bring their offering to earth-fast stone, and also to trees and to wellsprings, swa wiccan taeca∂: “as the witches teach."
