I Write Light Media
Los Angeles
My experiences with photography began during the age of 11 at Gage Middle School in South East Los Angeles. I was enrolled to be apart of an after school program called Woodcraft Rangers that had a club specifically for photography and digital arts. It was there when my love for photography began to be nurtured, however, it wasn't until 13 when I discovered what form of photography I was passionate about. I have called myself vain before for admitting that self portraiture was what manifested my interest in the world of photography. I followed a photographer/graphic designer who manipulated their self portraits and made them into fantasy portraits. I spent most of my teenage life photographing with a Canon Power Shot and didn't fully understand the mechanics of camera's until I attended Los Angeles City College. The completion of High School, came swift and with much reward. My mother observed my love for photography when I began my journey. She saw the passion I had for the art, and purchased me my first DSLR camera. All that I am today is because of my mother, and I am forever grateful for their irrevocable love to see me succeed . Studying photography was much more difficult than I anticipated. 12 hour lab days, countless of hours strategizing our concepts, and the expenses that came with photography kept my peers and I on our toes. Currently enrolled at Los Angeles City College: I study media arts, and work with other LACC artists on projects that will advocate for the change we deserve in our communities.
